YES! AIMS TO EMPOWER UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WITH THE INFORMATION THEY NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THEIR STUDIES AND CAREERS

Offering

YES! provides lecture services in a variety of formats depending on requirements. These could take the form of in-person lectures during a designated lecture slot, a virtual lecture during a lecture slot, or leveraging existing collaboration technology that the university uses.

Focus

The lectures focus on the role of engineers in industry and the typical working environments that students can expect to work in. YES! leverages its wide network of contributors across industry to provide different perspectives on the working world. Importantly, the lectures provided through YES! are independent of company affiliation or agenda and are done with the purpose of empowering students with information that will help them on their career journeys.

Format

The format that has been found to work most effectively is to have an initial focus on sharing information on different roles in industry, based on the experiences of the presenter. This is typically followed by a Q&A session where students can ask the presenters any questions they like. This can also be done after the fact on a collaboration platform.

Tailor-made talks

YES! is able to offer lectures to universities with tailor-made talks, depending on the year of students being targeted. First year students starting their university careers have different needs to final-year students getting ready for the working world. The programme also believes strongly in facilitating dialogue with students and can transition from the lectures to the mentoring offering to further add value to students.
